Living Waters Guatemala Project Oct 20, 2009 The guest speaker at the Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club on Tuesday, October 20 was Ajb'ee Jimenez, a native of Guatemala. He presented a program about Guatemala, Mayan culture and their need for safe water. Ajb'ee assisted a team from Elizabethtown that installed a water purification system in Guatemala. The project was sponsored by the Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club and the First Presbyterian Church.  View 
Antsy McClain Concert Oct 17, 2009 Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club and the First Presbyterian Church hosted Antsy McClain for a fundraiser on October 17 to benefit the Living Waters - Guatemala Project.  View

Rotary President Glenn Ross presents the District 6710 Community Service Project Award to Rotarians James Doughty and Greg Jenkins.  The award recognizes the Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club's Hardin County Backpack Program.  The program supplies supplemental food for over 600 Hardin County students. District Conference Award Jun 16, 2009 James Doughty and Greg Jenkins were recognized for receiving an award at the 2009 District 6710 conference. The category was Best Community Service Project.  View

Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club was recently honored at the District Rotary Convention by having its Clean Water Guatemala Project recognized as the Best International Project .  (Pictured are team members Rotarians Peter Denton, Bob Swope, and Bill Handley with Rotary President Glenn Ross) Clean Water Guatemala Project Jun 9, 2009 At its regular meeting on June 9, 2009 the Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club recognized members of the team that headed up the club’s water project in Guatemala. The club has now sent a team two years in a row to impoverished areas of Guatemala to install clean water filtration systems.  View

Clean Water Guatemala Project May 1, 2009 The Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Clean Water Guatemala Project is a cooperative effort with the First Presbyterian Church aimed at providing clean drinking water in Guatemala.  View

Rotary Paul Harris Fellows Mar 31, 2009 The Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club welcomed Rotary District Governor Terry Shockley and his wife Jo as special guests at their meeting on March 31, 2009. District Governor Shockley was in attendance for the recognition of ten members of the Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club who have been named Paul Harris Fellows. Membership as a Paul Harris Fellow is a significant distinction in the club awarded for contributions to the Rotary Foundation.  View

Bowl for Kids Sake Mar 24, 2009 The Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club was recently honored as the club that raised the most money for Bowl For Kids Sake fundraiser on behalf of Big Brothere/Big Sisters. The team raised over $1,800. Team members included Mike Byers, DeeJay Hall, Brad Burchett, and Tim Asher.  View 
Rotary President Glenn Ross presents a check for $250 to CASA director Sylvia Griendling. CASA Program Mar 3, 2009 The Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club welcomed CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program to their meeting on March 3, 2009. CASA is an established program nationwide that is new to the Hardin County area and utilizes volunteers to advocate for children in the Family Court System. In an effort to assist this worthy organization in getting established, the Noon Rotary Club made a donation of $250. Completing the program was Cathy Williamson.  Michael Owsley completed part two of the leadership training.  Rotary Leadership Institute Feb 10, 2009 The Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club sent two participants to the regional Rotary Leadership Institute on February 7, 2009 in Lexington. RLI is a three part program designed to prepare future leaders of Rotary Clubs by teaching the values of the International Rotary Club and effective management skills as they relate to club activities.  View

Jack Snyder Award Feb 10, 2009 The Elizabethtown Noon Rotary held their annual Rural-Urban day at their weekly meeting February 10, 2009. Recognized at the meeting was the 2009 recipient of the Jack Snyder Award, Mr. Rod Grusy. The award is given in recognition of outstanding lifetime achievement in the pursuit of relations between the rural and urban communities of Hardin County.  View 
Rotarian Val Claycomb congratulates Speech Contest winner Samantha Adams. Rotary Speech Contest Jan 20, 2009 On January 20, 2009, the Elizabethtown Noon Rotary hosted their annual speech competition for area students. This year's theme was "Make Dreams Real." The winner this year was Samantha Adams of Faith Home School Association and the runner-up was Andre Crutcher of Elizabethtown High School. This year's competition was organized by Rotarian Val Claycomb.  View

Rotary Essay Contest Dec 9, 2008 The Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club sponsored an essay contest in conjunction with the Students In Free Enterprise club from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. The essay for this year focused on the meaning of Ethics in the Workplace.  View

Governor Collins is actively involved with Georgetown College and accompanied Dr. Bill Crouch, President of Georgetown College, on his visit to the club.  View

Antsy McClain Concert Oct 25, 2008 The Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club and The First Presbyterian Church jointly sponsored a concert by Antsy McClain to support The Living Waters Guatemala Project. The concert was a great success raising needed funds to add two additional water systems in Guatemalan villages in 2009.  View

America's Second Harvest BackPack Program Sep 29, 2008 Not only did the Elizabetown Noon Rotary Club donate $6,500 to the Hardin County BackPack Program, six Rotarians helped with labor on September 29, by unloading food that will be placed in the backpack bags for Hardin County School students. The program provides food for the weekends to children who otherwise would not have food available to them.  View

America's Second Harvest BackPack Program Sep 9, 2008 At their regular meeting on September 9, the Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club made a donation of $6,500 to America’s Second Harvest to be used to support the Hardin County Backpack Program. This donation totally funds Hardin County’s BackPack program for one month. The backpack program provides nutritional weekend meals for over 700 Hardin County students.  View

Skip Dunford shows the project plan!  Living Waters for the World is the global mission resource of the Synod of Living Waters of the Presbyterian Church USA. The Elizabethtown Rotary Club teamed with the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethtown to sponsor the Living Water Guatemala Project. LIVING WATERS GUATEMALA PROJECT Jan 15, 2008 In 2005, incoming Elizabethtown Rotay Club President Debbie Borden included an international clean water project as one of her goals for our club during that year. Rotarians Bob Swope, Skip Dunford and Dr. Bill Handley along with non-Rotarians Bill Ball, Bob Beatty and Ralph Young began the foundation work that would span the terms of Rotary Presidents Rick Baumgardner and Greg Jenkins.  View 
First Place Team: Ed Ditto, Eric Hamilton, Ron Horn and C.Blair Rotary Golf Tournament May 13, 2006 On May 13, 2006 the Elizabethtown Rotary Club held a golf scramble to raise funds for the varioous community service projects in which the club is involved. As part of the activities that day, a joint breakfast meeting was held with the Hardin County Rotary Club at the Elizabethtown Country Club. Breakfast was at 7:00 A.M. and the scramble had a shot-gun start at 9:00 A.M. Approximately $7,000 was raised to support Club projects.  View 
The two club Presidents, Francis Simpson and Kevin Addington, presented the 100th Anniversary Birthday Cake. 100th Anniversary of Rotary International Feb 28, 2005 On February 28, 2005 the Elizabethtown Rotary Club and the Hardin County Rotary Club hosted a dinner for Rotarians in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Rotary International. The Elizabethtown Rotary Club was also marking its 70th year of service to the Elizabethtown community. The dinner and entertainment were held at the Historic State Theater.  View 
Brice is a Senior at Larue Coounty High School and represented the Hodgenville Rotary Club.  Five area clubs: Hodgenville, Hardin County, Radcliff, Bardstown, and Elizabethtown had high school students representing them in the area competition. 2005 Area Speech Contest Feb 22, 2005 Bryce Acree won the 2005 Area Speech Contest on February 22, 2005 and represented our area in the District Speech Contest in March. Brice was also the winner of the District Contest.  View 
2005 Elizabethtown Rotary Club Speech Contest Jan 18, 2005 On January 18, 2005, Brittany Johnson, a senior at John Hardin High School, was selected as the Club's 2005 Rotary Speech Contest winner and to be our Club's representative to the Area Speech Contest in February.  View 
Ron Ortiz receives the International Service Award. 2004 International Service Award Oct 5, 2004 Kevin Addington and Kevin Shurn presented Ron Ortiz the Club's International Service Award. Rotarian Ortiz had recently returned from serving in the military in Iraq and while there had led his unit in several humanitarian projects for the Iraqi people.  View
